Itinerary
Meet our skillful driver and get ready for two and a half hours of beautiful Caribbean views on your way to Rio Ancho
9:30 AM
Welcome to Rio Ancho
The restaurant by the river will warmly welcome you. Take 15 minutes to meet the place and its owners, order your lunch in advance, and get ready to walk!
9:45 AM
The walk begins!
Enjoy a soft two-and-a-half-hour hike on our new road surrounded by local and indigenous houses, admire the Sierra Nevada's lush nature, and become one with the trail and your thoughts.
12:15 PM
Tungueka and
a wise moment with the Mamo
Welcome to one of our elder siblings' towns, Tungueka. The Kogui tribe's ancestors arrived in Colombia 1,800 years ago. Their traditions have been orally transmitted through the millennia and the Mamo will share some of that ancient wisdom with you!
1:15 PM
Motorcycle ride
back to Rio Ancho
Have a fun way back to the restaurant on a motorbike driven by one of our neighbors. They are the Moto-taxistas ("Motorbike-taxi drivers") Asociation from Rio Ancho.
1:30 PM
Lunch by the river

Enjoy the setting by the river with an authentic, traditional Caribbean atmosphere. Taste some typical delicacies and take some time to swim with the locals in the fresh waters of the wide river (El Río Ancho).
2:30 / 3:00PM
Back to the
Caribbean's pearl

Go back to Santa Marta with an everlasting memory of your visit to the heart of the world. You can stop at the handicraft shop in the town, where you can contribute to the Kokgui economy by buying their handicrafts as nice souvenirs.
